I finally did it! Chicago-style deep-dish chili-dog pizza.

That kicks so much ass! I was hoping I’d be there when you eventually pulled this caper. I guess you’d need a monster pan to arrange the dogs in a wagon-wheel form.

Yeah… obtaining the 20″ pie pan or whatever was just dragging me down… really, I think that worked out for the best, because with the dogs angled that way, You get a nice visual of the dog’s cross-section. Also — the cake pan gave me the height I needed, which was key. BTW, I lined with cheddar instead of mozzarella, used martin’s potato rolls.

I know it’s hard to believe, but it actually tastes GOOD, with a capital G-O-O-D. Mostly because the chili and pizza recipes were above par. The buttery crust is just an extension of the bun and tomato sauce totally works in chili. It is a little more filling per slice by virtue of the extra bread. Peroni was like the last beer in the house, but man — that was a decent pairing, IMHO.

There is some left… I wish I could share it. I would totally invite you for a slice, but I heard it’s supposed to dump again tonight.

I’ll bet J-Doggz pad is quite the wintery dutch oven after going Donner Pass on a chidogpie. Dank!
