Stereogram Flash Animation

Stereogram flash animation

Set it to Cross-eyed and see for yourself.

More impressive Flash animations here and here. And to be fair, I found these here, where there are a bunch of other intriguing Flash experiments, including this one, which I was particularly amused by.

Oh wait! Here is my favorite.

Should I have some kind of stereo-opticon kind of gadget/glasses to see the two images as a 3-d composite? (Or am I completely missing the point somehow?)

Remember those stereograms where you had to unfocus your eyes and then find that weird point of focus where the hidden image would pop out? This is the same, only no hidden image. It’s a 3D effect, kind of like a viewmaster animation.

To be more specific, unfocus your eyes until you see the 3 of the images instead of 2, then slowly focus your attention on the middle one. The 3D effect will lock into place. You might find that crossing your eyes will achieve this.
