One of the reasons I will find it hard to ever leave Japan is the amazing concept of actaully having multiple cool music video channels at my fingertips. Not only that, ones often showing videos with a heavy emphasis on visual quality over the (alleged) necessity of showing the actual performer(s). Here’s a fine example…

Top Ten Weird and Bizarre Japanese Soft Drinks

I was lamenting the non-existence of a reasonable soda-pop database on the web, in hopes of finding more info on or at least a nostalgic glance at a bottle of Rock Creek Soda. 3fj provided some amount of solace with this page of The Top Ten Weird and Bizarre Japanese Soft Drinks. There are predictably a few engrish entries like Coolpis and BJ coffee, but number one really did kind of catch me off guard, even for the land of Pocari Sweat.

Pay close attention right away, the two cops right at the beginning are hilarious. The whole sequence is a calvacade of bizarre one-liners, actually. The most important reason I enjoy this so much is for the great Jerry Reed tune that plays throughout the whole thing…
