In what is perhaps The Yes Men’s most successful prank, Andy Bichlbaum posed as “Jude Finisterra”, a Dow Chemical spokesperson, for this BBC interview. 23 minutes after he claimed that Dow accepts full responsibility for the Bhopal disaster and a $12 billion settlement for the victims is in place, Dow’s stock fell 4.2%, a $2 billion loss in market value. Later, BBC interviewed Andy about the hoax.

J-Dogg and I were talking about Captain and Tennille and he said that he had never heard “Muskrat Love.” Through the miracle of Youtube I was able to dredge up this gem; a performance aired on “Kids Are People Too” in 1979.

Episode 5 of some weird russian cartoon called Fantadrom. I don’t know much about it… parts of this one has really cool spacey 70s synth music in the background, other parts have really annoying synth music. As far as I can figure out it’s about some futuristic space cow who wants to capture passing creatures to share its milk with. There are a number of other episodes which look equally trippy and spacey/futuristic. It’s actually hard for me to watch a whole episode, but it’s weird. The animation is pretty ambitious but pretty loose, I wonder if it has any connection with the animated kraftwerk “Autobahn” video.
