Just when you thought people being creative with the tube map was tapped out.

I’ve always liked the Jews for Jesus pamphlets. They always struck me as the friendlier, less fanatical, more slapdash conterpart to Jack Chick’s tracts. (The folks handing them out are really chill, too – they’ve never once tried to have any conversation with me when I took a pamphlet. Their only goal seems to be to distribute the xeroxed sheets.) I really like the way the writing hones in on whatever the current trend is, then very awkwardly segues from talking about Superman, iPods, Pre-Millenial tension, The Harlem Globetrotters, or whatever into preachifyin’. And the illustrations can be really goofy – usually far goofier than (I think) they were intended to be.

Featuring David Bowie, ELO, and a Cicely Tyson bitchslap. I don’t even know where to begin with the subtext going on here.

I’ve only heard about this episode. At least I can now confirm it exists.
